Questions & Answers

Business Phone Lines FAQs

Analog (POTS) is traditional copper-based phone service. Analog (VoIP) uses IP/SIP behind the scenes and is converted to analog for your existing equipment (phones, fax, alarms, paging). VoIP-based analog often provides more flexibility and can reduce costs while still supporting legacy devices.

T1/PRI is a digital circuit commonly used with older PBXs to deliver multiple voice channels over a single connection. It can still be a fit for some legacy systems, but many organizations now migrate to SIP-based services for easier scaling and modern features.

Yes. We can port your existing numbers (DIDs) so your business keeps the same contact information. We'll coordinate the timing to reduce disruption and ensure inbound calls continue to route properly.

Often, yes. Many legacy devices can be supported using analog (VoIP) lines and the right gateway/ATA setup. If you have alarms, elevator lines, or special equipment, we'll confirm compatibility and recommend the best option for reliability and compliance.

E911 is traditional emergency service tied to a fixed civic address (commonly used with POTS). V911 is used with VoIP-based services and has important limitations, especially if the service is moved or used from a different location. We'll help ensure your emergency service details are set correctly for your deployment.

Yes. We can assist with line cutovers, equipment configuration, phone system integration, and on-site wiring where needed. If you're unsure what you have today, we can help assess your current setup and recommend the best-fit line type.
