The instructions below apply to TP-Link Archer C50 router. In order to change your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and/or password, simply follow the steps below.

  1. Using a device that is connected to Wi-Fi or connected directly to your router, open your browser and type in the following address:

  2. When prompted, enter admin for both the username and password. Click the 'Log In' button.

  3. To configure your network on the 2.4 GHz wireless frequency, click the Wireless 2.4 GHz button from the menu on the left.

  4. On this screen, you can set your network name (SSID). Click Save.

  5. To change your password, select Wireless Security from under Wireless 2.4 Ghz in the menu on the left.

  6. Set your password, scroll down and click the ‘Save’ button.

  7. To change your Wi-Fi credentials on the 5 GHz frequency, click the Wireless 5 GHz button from the menu on the left and follow the same steps as above.

    * The primary differences between the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies are range and bandwidth. 5GHz provides faster data rates at a shorter distance. 2.4GHz offers coverage for farther distances, but may perform at slower speeds.

  8. Click the 'Save' button. To ensure the changes are applied, wait for the page to reload.
